Scientific Achievements & Selected Publications

Research has been conducted on the synthesis and medicinal chemistry of natural products, including lipopeptides, polyketides and terpenoids. Meanwhile, the selectivity and molecular targets of some compounds against cancer stem cells have been identified. Two drug candidates have entered clinical trials, among which ACT001 has advanced to Phase III clinical trials. It has been granted the Breakthrough Therapy Designation by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China and the Fast Track Designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), along with other regulatory qualifications. Over 80 academic papers have been published in prestigious journals such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Med. Chem. and Chem. Commun. In addition, a number of invention patents have been authorized in China and overseas, with 3 patents receiving protection in 20 countries and regions worldwide.
